Michigan Cryptid Arcane™ (MCA) is an immersive archive of Michigan folklore, reported sightings, field notes, artifacts, and original storytelling rooted in the state’s deep woods, quiet lakes, and winding trails.

Some entries are based on documented legends, historical accounts, and regional traditions. Others—including the recovered writings of naturalist Jacob R. Kosinski—belong to MCA’s evolving story world. Each dossier is intended to make that distinction clear while honoring the real people, places, and cultures connected to Michigan folklore.

The project is created and expanded by Jim Kiszka, a Michigan-based storyteller, marketing strategist, and lifelong explorer of the strange and wondrous. Jim combines historical research, visual storytelling, and immersive world-building to reconnect communities with the legends of their land.
